Our mission at Helping Others Progress through Education is to help families improve health by increasing access to farm fresh produce and nutritional and culinary education. The FOODSHARE program is designed to help families improve health by increasing access to FRESH PRODUCE by providing an affordable produce box once a month. Anyone can purchase a box is filled with 12-15 varieties of healthy fruits and vegetables. The cost is $15 per box and the box would retail for $22-$24. If you receive SNAP/EBT, you pay $5 and will receive a $10 Healthy Bucks incentive to pay for the balance

School Drive

H.O.P.E. have multiple school drives throughout the summer before school start each year. We collect donations throughout the year so we can help more children the following year.

Food Security

We strive to feed the homeless and children throughout the year. We organize events throughout the year to feed the homeless and participated in the South Carolina Department of Education (Summer Food Service Program for Children (SFSP) in 2018 through 2019. In 2020 during the summer we continued to feed the kids in the community funded by sponsors, grants, donations. During the the school year we take snacks to schools in Rock Hill, SC and Charlotte, NC.

H.O.P.E. work with young adults to identify institutions of higher learning, complete entrance applications, secure financial aid, and ultimately make the transition to life as a college student. Donations go towards college tours, scholarships, and helping young adults with transitioning into the college life.

3 Strategies We Apply To Make a Difference

Food Security

We strive to ensure families that are in need and the homeless in our communities have food by feeding the children during the summer, partnering with Food Share South Carolina, and organizing events to feed families and the homeless.

School Supply Assistance

We provide school supplies and a book bag to each student at our School Drives each year in York County and the surrounding areas.

Education Outreach

We work with young adults to identify institutions of higher learning, complete entrance applications, secure financial aid.

MAKE A DONATION

Donations help us purchase food, school supplies, book bags, and help young adults go off to college. Donations also help families improve health by increasing access to farm fresh produce and nutritional and culinary education .

Volunteering will help us be able to make a difference in our communities in York County and the surrounding areas.We rely on our volunteers to help prepare, package, and deliver school supplies and meals with love throughout the year.
