Tashica Thompson
Founder & CEO
As founder and chief executive officer of Helping Others Progress through Education, Tashica Thompson has dedicated her life to servicing the needs of others. Redefining levels of commitment to community service through her humanitarianism and activism, Tashica has impacted thousands of lives in York County and surrounding areas. Being a Rock Hill native, Tashica has made it her mission to not only advocate for change but to be that very symbol of hope and change that we need in our communities today.
Tashica attended York Technical College where she obtained her Associate’s Degree in Accounting and received an Accounting Certificate. Annually she services thousands of people through her projects such as the summer feeding program, school drives, college tours, and FoodShare. The summer feeding program provides lunches to hundreds of children during the summer. FoodShare York County is a program that offers fresh produce to individuals at a discounted rate.
The most popular contribution to her community has been her annual back to school drives that her nonprofit organization hosts. Going on it’s ten year anniversary in August, Tashica’s school drives have provided school supplies to thousands of children ranging from elementary to college.
With a deep personal commitment to strengthening communities in York County, Tashica has been an advocate for the fight against hunger, a leader in advancing education, and the very definition of what it means to believe and have hope.
Our hometown hero, Tashica Thompson!
